Children's Area

You and your "wee bairns" are invited to the Celtic Children's Pavilion at the Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival! Open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, this area offers an amazing array of Celtic activities and performances. Bring the whole family and enjoy the fun!

storytellingLive Entertainment: Throughout both days the Celtic Children’s Pavilion Stage will see performances by world-class Celtic musicians, rousing exhibitions by experienced Irish dancers, and the weaving of traditional yarns by crafty Celtic storytellers from near and far! Craft Area activities: Beading, Pottery, Celtic Knot Bookmarks, Paint-Your-Own Blarney Stone, Stained Glass Sun Catchers, Bracelet Weaving, Mural Painting, Family Trees, Celtic Coloring Sheets, Face Painting and Caricatures

Petting ZooPetting Zoo: Williams Farm will be on hand to give horse and buggy rides and will host a petting zoo featuring goats, sheep, rabbits and a donkey. Dr. Alan Cameron’s adorable Highland “coos” (cows) will also be here this year!

“Musical Petting Zoo”: This area offers children a chance to meet and interact with Celtic musicians who will be giving hands-on demonstrations with Celtic instruments.

sack raceOngoing Kiddie Games: Mini-Caber Toss, Sheaf Toss, Blarney Stone Throw, Haggis Toss

Scheduled Kiddie Games (held at 2:00 p.m. each day): Potato Sack Race, Egg-and-Spoon Relay, 3-Legged Race, Tug-‘O-War with Highland Games competition athletes. Ribbons will be awarded to all who participate!

Clan and Festival Passport: Pick up a Celtic Kids Passport at the ticket booth as you enter the festival. Visit the clan and organization tents listed, learn about who they are, and get your passport stamped. Return it to the Celtic Children’s Pavilion for a prize!
