NOMOJO Bluegrass Jam Band
“Bluegrass Meets Celtic” is a theme the NELA Celtic Festival has explored for the past few years. Bluegrass music has its own roots in Irish, Scottish and English traditional music. Again this year we celebrate the roots of bluegrass music, and the wealth of bluegrass talent in Northeast Louisiana, with a “jam” by some of our region’s most talented pickers. NOMOJO’s members are Ken Breard, Murray Biedenharn, Jeff Hicks, and Matt Morgan. They are joined this year by 2008 Louisiana State Fiddle Champion Hallie Yarbrough. NOMOJO and friends have hosted rousing bluegrass sessions every Thursday night for many years at Enoch’s Irish Pub and Cafe in Monroe.
