Southern Harvest

Southern Harvest is a band based on traditional bluegrass and gospel. Each member having played in several bands before, they decided to put their talents together to create a sound of hard driving instrumentals and creative harmonies. Southern Harvest is: Jamey Alwell on guitar and vocals, previously of the Brushy Branch band; Tony Murphy on mandolin and vocals has played with Southland and Liberty Bluegrass bands; Marty Kutz on resophonic “dobro” guitar and vocals started his bluegrass career with Don Wiley and The Louisiana Grass in 1980 and is a protégé of Josh Graves; James New on banjo has played for groups such as Carl Story and The Rambling Mountaineers and Southern Express; and George Doughtie on bass and vocals has played music since the age of 12, concentrating on bluegrass since 1995 and playing with several groups in Georgia and Louisiana.
